The historic and ancient region of Salento, in Puglia, in the far South of Italy, has over 250 days of sunshine annually. This is a region rich in produce both from the land and from the sea. It is here that you find that ‘nectar of the Gods’ – olive oil; along with an abundance of fruit and vegetables, not to mention the many medicinal plants and herbs that occur naturally, such as rosemary, sage and marjoram. All these elements combine to truly make this area one of the gardens of Europe.
